【摘要】:Thisspecificationcoversfittings,appurtenancesandvalveswhicharetobeusedwithpipeandtubingcomplyingwithSpecificationsD1785,D2241,D2846,F441orF442,orotherpipingasspecifiedbythefittingsmanufacturer.Theseproducts,suchasunions,flangesorvalves,arenotincludedinthescopeofexistingASTMspecifications.Thisspecificationincludesminimumrequirementsfortesting,materials,dimensions,workmanship,marking,andin-plantqualitycontrol.Fittingsorappurtenancescoveredbythisspecificationaregenerallyeithermolded,fabricated,orassembledfrommoldedormachinedcomponents.Thematerialsusedincomponentsincluderigidthermoplastics,thermoplasticelastomers,elastomerics,andmetals.Thebodyormainportionofthefitting,appurtenanceorvalveistypicallyPVC,CPVC,PEorPA(nylon).AllproductscoveredbythisstandardareintendedtobeusedinPVCorCPVCplasticpipingsystems,orasatransitionfromthesetometalsystems.Theapplicationoftheseproductstogasserviceisbeyondthescopeofthisspecification.Theproductscoveredbythisspecificationareintendedforusewiththedistributionofpressurizedliquidsonly,whicharechemicallycompatiblewiththepipingmaterials.Duetoinherenthazardsassociatedwithtestingcomponentsandsystemswithcompressedairorothercompressedgasessomemanufacturersdonotallowpneumatictestingoftheirproducts.Consultwithspecificproduct/componentmanufacturersfortheirspecifictestingprocedurespriortopneumatictesting.Note1-Warning:Pressurized(compressed)airorothercompressedgasescontainlargeamountsofstoredenergywhichpresentserioussafetywhichpresentserioussafetyhazardsshouldasystemfailforanyreason.Fittingswhichrelyonheatfusionweldingforconnectiontothepipingsystemareoutsidethescopeofthisspecification.Checkvalves(includingfootvalves)coveredbythisspecificationshallnotbeconsideredbackflowpreventiondevicesandshallnotbeusedfortheprotectionofapotablewatersupply.Fordefinitionsandrequirementsofbackflowpreventiondevices,consultmodelplumbingcodesandASSE.Duetothecomplexandinstallation-specificconcernssurroundingchemicalresistanceandcorrosion,thisspecificationdoesnotaddressthecompatibilityoftheproductswithallpossibleend-useenvironments.Additionaltestingspecifictotheend-useenvironmentisrecommendedifthesystemisconveyingliquidsotherthanpotablewater.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.TheSIunitsgiveninparenthesesaregivenforinformationonly.Thefollowingsafetycaveatappliesonlytothetestmethodsandin-plantqualitycontrolportions,sectionofthisspecification:Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
